In the garden now
Cool-season transplants, native planting and buying bulbs
Set out broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage starts. Cauliflower does better here as an autumn crop, 18–24in apart at 80–110 days; broccoli 12–24in at 60–100 days. UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County
Feed citrus half a pound of 5-2-1 per tree and water it in. A tablespoon of Epsom salts goes in with it. Raspberries take a liquid fish foliar feed twice this month. UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County

In September, look for tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, figs, early apples, pears, table grapes, corn, and the first winter squash.
