The City of Sonoma is preparing to revisit its Mobilehome Park Closure and Conversion Ordinance at a study session on August 19, and residents of the city's three mobilehome parks have weighed in through a July survey. The 132 responses, representing 191 people, suggest an overwhelmingly elderly, long-settled and fixed-income population: 72% of household members are 65 or older, 94% report having no realistic back-up housing, and 99% say the home is central to their financial security. The findings frame what closure would mean for some of the valley's most vulnerable residents.
