The Sonoma Valley Sun, a free biweekly newspaper distributed at dozens of locations across the valley, has become a fully independent nonprofit after two years under a fiscal sponsor. Executive Director Larry Barnett said the shift gives the paper more flexibility to serve readers, noting that its print edition has doubled from sixteen to roughly thirty-two pages. Managed by a small team and supported by advertising and reader donations, the Sun continues updating its website daily and printing twice monthly.
