Jack London State Historic Park has a full September calendar, headlined by a gala on the 19th marking Jack London's 150th birthday. The centerpiece for hikers is the third annual WILD Trail Challenge, a series of five Saturday hikes from September 5 to October 3 covering all 39.5 miles of trail. Each hike costs $15 with park entry waived, and those registering for all five before September 5 save 20 percent. Difficulty rises each week.
