MacArthur Park Charter School has opened at the former Prestwood Elementary site on E. MacArthur Street, becoming the third charter in the Sonoma Valley Unified School District. It enrolled 196 students, more than 60 percent of them returning Prestwood pupils, and readied itself in just seven weeks with heavy parent volunteering. Founding Director Danielle Yount, formerly a Santa Rosa charter high school principal, credited the board and community, and outlined a STEAM-focused curriculum across ten classrooms serving seven grades.
