The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors has placed a measure on the November 3 ballot to renew the existing one-eighth-cent sales tax for regional and city parks, first approved in 2018 as Measure M. The renewal would not raise the current rate and would take effect when the present tax expires in 2029. The tax generates more than $15 million annually for park maintenance, trails and wildfire risk reduction, and requires a two-thirds vote to pass.
