The valley’s dispatchers were kept modestly occupied this week, chiefly by that broad and forgiving category known as the traffic hazard. What follows is the full ledger of official concern.
At 8:54 on the morning of July 13th, a traffic hazard was noted at Trinity Road and Highway 12, an intersection that has seen worse and will doubtless see it again. The precise nature of the hazard was not recorded, leaving its character to the imagination.
The following morning, at 9:56, attention shifted to the ramp connecting southbound Highway 101 to eastbound Highway 128, where another hazard presented itself. It, too, declined to explain itself for the record.
By the afternoon of July 15th, at 2:55, the westbound lanes of Highway 12 near the connector to northbound 101 required a look. The valley absorbed the disruption with its customary equanimity.
The same day closed at 6:51 in the evening with a final hazard on southbound 101 at the connector to Highway 12, rounding out a week in which the roads asked only for patience, and largely received it.
The Blotter is compiled from public California Highway Patrol dispatch logs for the Highway 12 corridor and the valley’s roads; only minor incidents are included. In an emergency, always call 911.
