Something new is arriving in the mailboxes and inboxes of Kenwood, Glen Ellen, and Oakmont: a weekly newspaper built for these three towns alone.
For years the valley’s upper end has been thinly covered. The Kenwood Press still lands twice a month, but the county’s daily papers now answer to a hedge fund three thousand miles away, and much of what happens here — a permit, a road closure, a winery’s fortunes, a red-flag warning — never makes the page at all. The Wag exists to close that gap.
Each week we will gather what matters from across California and set down the part that reaches Sonoma Valley: fire and weather, county decisions, wine and agriculture, the permits and the politics, the events worth your Saturday, and a look back at the valley a century ago. We aim to be quick, accurate, and a little bit funny.
We are still building. If you would like to be told when the first edition lands, write to [email protected].
